The Y’s Endowment Fund, which was created in 1984, consists of permanent capital that generates investment income used to support the Y’s programs and community initiatives. It provides the Y with a stable and predictable source of funding and ensures that our actions are sustainable.

Donations made to the Endowment Fund are invested and protected in perpetuity by the Foundation of The YMCAs of Québec. Donors can specify where they want their contribution to go: a specific sector, such as homework help or welcoming new immigrants, or to the Y’s general mission. In the latter case, the annual income generated by the donation is assigned to various projects and programs chosen by the selection committee of the Board of Directors of the The YMCAs of Québec.

Lastly, donors can create their own endowment fund and name it in honour of their family or a loved one. Known as a Tribute Fund, this is described in the Gifts in Honour or in Memoriam section.

Donors who contribute to the Y’s Endowment Fund are invited to join the Heritage Club. As members, they will be kept up-to-date on the Y’s activities and initiatives as well as the status of the Fund. They will also be invited to attend various events such as the Heritage Club supper and The YMCAs of Québec Annual General Meeting.
